About Ghost Town Fly Fishing
Ghost Town exists to help anglers plan their own trips — with better information than a single fishing report can give them.
What Ghost Town is
Ghost Town Fly Fishing is a trip-planning platform for do-it-yourself anglers. It gathers what fly shops, guides, agencies and environmental monitoring networks are publishing about a water, keeps track of what those sources said in past seasons, and puts the two together so you can judge a destination and a date rather than guess at one.
Everything Ghost Town shows is meant to be traceable. If a statement comes from a fishing report, that report is the source. If it comes from a stream gauge or a snowpack reading, that measurement is the source. Ghost Town does not present a recommendation without being able to say where it came from.
Who it is for
Anglers planning trips themselves: choosing a destination, picking a window, working out what to expect on the water and what to put in the box. Guided anglers are welcome, but the product is built for the person doing their own planning.
What Ghost Town is not
- Not a fishing report aggregator. Reports are evidence, not the product. The product is the reasoning built on top of them.
- Not a shop. Ghost Town does not sell gear, trips or licenses.
- Not a guide service. Ghost Town has not personally fished or field-verified the waters it covers, and does not claim to have.
- Not a substitute for current regulations. Always confirm licenses, seasons and rules with the managing authority before you fish.
Editorial independence
Ghost Town intends to earn revenue in the future through clearly disclosed affiliate and partner relationships. Those relationships will never determine what Ghost Town Intelligence says about a water, a season or a destination. See the affiliate disclosure for how that boundary is maintained.
Coverage today
Coverage is deliberately narrow and honest rather than broad and fabricated. Slovenia is the destination with end-to-end coverage today; other waters are published where real content exists for them. Pages say plainly when a capability is in development rather than live — see Ghost Town Intelligence for the current status of each capability.
